She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources Administration, magna cum laude, from Saint Leo University in 1995 and a Master’s of Business Administration in Business Economics and Public Policy from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 1996. Ms. Rey earned her Juris Doctor in 2007 from Stetson University College of Law. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2007, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeal.

Ms. Rey is a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit court mediator and is trained in Residential Foreclosure Mediation. She was originally certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) in 1999 and now holds the advanced designations of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR). Ms. Rey is also a certified reviewer for an accreditation program for non-profit organizations. In addition to comprehensive human resource management positions, Ms. Rey has worked in economic development, local government, not-for-profit, and small business environments. She served as a Federal Litigation Intern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida and interned with the in-house counsel office for Tech Data Corporation.

She joined The Hogan Law Firm in January 2008, where she focuses on employment law, business litigation, business transactions and government law. Ms. Rey has litigated performance and payment bond, trade infringement, wage and hour, FMLA and various contract dispute matters for corporate and government clients. She has represented clients before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Department of Labor (DOL), Public Employee Relations Commission (PERC), Florida Board of Education, and the Agency for Workforce Innovation Unemployment Division (AWI).

Ms. Rey is a member of the Florida Bar Association, the Hernando County Bar Association (HCBA), and the Citrus-Hernando Inns of Court. She is a Board Member for Habitat for Humanity of Hernando County and serves as its Treasurer. She is also a Board Member and Certification Chair for the Nature Coast Human Resources Society, Inc. (NCHRS) and is currently serves as its president-elect. Ms. Rey is a member and director-at-large for the Rotary Club of Brooksville and a member of Spring Lake United Methodist Church.
